Payroll Supervisor – fully in-office position

Direct Hire; up to 100K + bonus

Duties: 

  • Process weekly multi-state payroll for 1,500+ employees
  • Process employee changes and verify payroll accuracy; perform final pay calculations and ensure compliance of payment
  • Process garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, state unemployment insurance, and quarterly tax verifications
  • Review employee timecards for accuracy and reconcile variances; partner with supervisors with questions and concerns
  • Provide training materials and deadlines to new managers
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures
  • Oversee procedures and processes; manage inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll
  • Run month end close reports for finance department; run GL interface and update as needed
  • Complete BLS reports for Multiple Worksite Reporting
  • Review W-2s/941s for accuracy; manage payroll tax notices
  • Perform payroll reconciliation activities with Accounting and Finance teams; includes research on GL postings, project expenses, tax equalizations, and escheat process
  • Develop in-depth understanding of payroll software and HRIS; create reports on demand
  • Supervise 1 direct report – Payroll Specialist
  • Interview, hire, train, and oversee daily workflow of department; complete performance evaluations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Certified Payroll Professional preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of related experience required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite required; ADP Workforce Now, Kronos Workforce Central, and iCIMS a plus
  • Strong leader, team player, and collaborative; exemplary customer service skills  
  • Detail oriented, organized, adaptable, and strong time management; fast-paced environment  
  • Adapts to business priorities that change quickly; multi-task with frequent interruptions
  • Problem-solver, decisive, and flexible; handle sensitive info in a discreet, confidential manner
