Remote: Texas, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Mid-Continent, Northeast and Southeast US but not West Coast
Client's Energy Practice is seeking a skilled professional versed in the structuring, underwriting, and administration of risk mitigating techniques utilizing credit insurance related products (Surety Bonds) in the Renewables Project Finance space. Ideal candidate will have a credit assessment and structuring background in Project Finance associated transactions and open to pursuing a challenging Business Development, career growth, and financially rewarding track in the firm's sophisticated Energy Practice
Role will grow into a Business development role after training development period of two (2) years – Client training provided
Job duties during development period
- Serve as primary point of contact to Client's Energy accounts to coordinate day-to-day operations
- Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with accounts managed
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of surety bonds or any other account request
- Coordinate and deliver advisory feedback between sureties and clients
- Collaborate with various internal teams including but not limited to Advisory & Production, CSR, and work closely with the Director of Operations.
- Proactively explore potential opportunities for additional surety credit within existing client book
- Optimize existing client relationships and expand surety involvement
- Actively maintain understanding of current events for all clients and ensure VPs are current on client activities
- Maintain existing prospective client network and produce new surety clients as appropriate
- Advocate and educate internal and external stakeholders on project finance structures to help develop surety appetite and innovative surety products
- Participate in and facilitate prospect, client, and surety meetings as necessary
- Travel as needed
Job Duties post Development Period
- Coordinate smooth transition of account management responsibilities
- Produce new surety clients
- Maintain and build relationships with clients on boarded
- Stay current on surety marketplace and respective sub-segment of expertise
- Continue to innovate and educate sureties opportunistically
- Meet with sureties and underwriters to develop rapport
- Actively participate in industry association meetings, trade shows and conferences
- Prepare and present client proposals
- Travel as needed
Requirements/Qualifications
- 3-7 yrs Project Finance credit underwriting preferably in the Renewables space or secondarily in the Energy Upstream space
- Degreed in Finance or other business disciplines preferred
- Formal bank credit training is preferred
- Experience underwriting and structuring credit in the Surety Bond space is a PLUS
Compensation/Benefits/Other
- Up to $125K DOE plus a 10% commission-base bonus during the development/training period
- Post the development/training period, Comp structure will gradually transition into an attractive and balanced commission structure providing both income security and lucrative commission upside.
