Regional Sales Manager – Valves
Direct Hire; up to 85K + bonus
North Houston
**Travel required 20 – 22 weeks per year, 2 – 5 days per trip; overnight travel a must
**Must be based in Houston
**Company vehicle and expense account provided
**20 manufacturing reps in North America – territory will cover part of those
Duties:
- Manage product sales and marketing efforts through manufacturers’ representative selling arm and product acceptance within all markets, end-users, and engineering/contractor level
- Establish, maintain, and review representatives (likely 7 to 8 independent company reps)
- Develop and sustain product acceptance and approvals at all major users and E/C’s
- Set sales forecasts in conjunction with representatives, striving to exceed forecasts
- Set budgets in conjunction with management and strive to work within guidelines
- Coordinate product sales efforts within representative network through product training, joint sales efforts, effective communication, and maintaining required marketing tools
- Work closely with diverse departments and people – inside sales, engineering and manufacturing; remember that to sell a product, all concerns within the company must be met
- Manage, mediate, and make decisions regarding representative contracts, territories and inter-rep involvement
- Assist in preparation and participation in trade shows, table-tops, product seminars and sales meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Business Administration/Science with five (5) years’ experience and/or demonstrated ability and experience
- Technology savvy; quick study on new programs; basic accounting skills
- Valve experience REQUIRED (flexible on specific experience)
- Driven, focused and passionate; detailed, strong communicator, and organized
- Proven experience in sales management; motivator and collaborative
Other Info:
- Bonus is 10% to 40% of base; paid annually and calculated on GP for region
- Travel as required to representatives and key accounts (50% minimum)
- Established, stable, growing international company; team members have built long tenure
- Role open due to growth and expansion
- Most travel will be air travel but some car travel in the Gulf Coast areas
