Controller – In-Office
Direct Hire; up to 150K + bonus 
77060 zip – North Houston

Duties:
 

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
  • Manage selection, implementation, and maintenance of company’s accounting systems
  • Monitor rental utilization, track rental revenue, manage inventory, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and collaborate with other departments to optimize business performance
  • Oversee production of periodic financial reports; ensures reported results comply with GAAP
  • Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
  • Produce annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management
  • Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Oversee employee training and identify developmental needs within team; ensure cross-training of critical capabilities
  • Manage and mentor existing team members; hire, train, and lead new team members
  • Maintain and foster relationships with external stakeholders such as third-party accountants or auditors, financial institutions, and insurance companies
  • Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements

Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration; Certified Public Accountant designation a plus
  • 5-7 years of managerial experience in finance or accounting fields, preferably in rental or construction industries
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software; experience using rental industry software a plus
  • Must be a strong leader and help implement policies and procedures; attention to detail, consistency, dedication, discipline, and accuracy a must
  • Experience and skills in yearly audits

  • Team members – payroll/payables (via ADP), buyer, and a credit and collections team members
  • Manual now but converting to new system – Sage 100
