Professional Alternatives is seeking for a detail-oriented and proactive Escrow Assistant. As an Escrow Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the escrow process from start to finish. 

Key Responsibilities:

Prior to Closing:

  • Order payoffs and final utilities for files; verify payoffs match title commitments.
  • Handle all file requirements prior to closing, including liens, judgments, and bankruptcy requirements.
  • Obtain past and present tax information; ensure current taxes have not been paid.
  • Order and follow-up on HOA letters, bylaws, financials, and irrigation.
  • Obtain commission information on the real estate agents involved in the transaction.
  • Disburse files and verify receipt and accuracy of wires.
  • Prepare Power of Attorneys and Quit Claim Deeds when necessary.
  • Maintain communication with the Escrow Officer regarding the status of the file.
  • Handle walk-ins or phone calls when the Escrow Officer is unavailable.
  • Assist other assistants and fill in as a receptionist as needed.


  • Assist with entering figures from the lender.
  • Assist with printing documents for closing.
  • Print checks for closing.
  • Assist with faxing figures to lenders/Realtors.

After Closing:

  • Clean out the file for shipping of the loan package, recordings, and follow-up on any money held in escrow, etc.
  • Prepare closed-out files for scanning.


  • Min 1 year of experience as an Escrow Assistant or in a related role.
  • Knowledge of the escrow process and related documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software and tools used in escrow processes.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
