Accounting Specialist
Direct Hire; up to 62
Sugar Land


  • Perform all aspects of daily accounting duties including A/P, A/R, credit card reconciliations, monthly bank statement reconciliations, expense reports, prepaid expenses, payroll, procedure processes, monthly journal postings, schedules, depreciation postings, and intercompany receivables and payables
  • Process vendor payables, code invoices, data entry invoices for payment, weekly check runs, respond courteously to vendor inquiries, and manage ongoing vendor relations
  • Assist with customer billing and collect on accounts by sending invoice reminders and communicate with customers
  • Perform Year End CAM/Taxes/Insurance Reconciliations, draft tenant letters, and process and manage tenant billings and collections
  • Manage and process payments of year end property tax payments
  • Review property, liability, and insurance renewals for proper coverage; bill, post and reconcile payments received to annual premium
  • Generate Financial Statements from QuickBooks
  • Maintain vendor files including W9 and assisting with 1099s
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Assist with opening and distributing mail
  • Prepare supporting documentation for audits
  • Maintain historical records by scanning and filing documents
  • Perform special projects within Accounting Department and cross-train for duties
  • Assist with other accounting and administrative duties in temporary absence of other staff.


  • College degree preferred; high school required with 2-4 years related experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, 10-key by touch, and QuickBooks Desktop
  • Friendly and customer service-focused professional with great communication skills, energetic outlook, and a disciplined-organized work ethic
  • Exercise initiative and judgement in decision-making; detail oriented
  • Prioritize and organize multiple diverse tasks at once
  • Work independently as well as part of a team; collaborative approach and positive team spirit
  • General understanding of accounting practices and principles
