Job Title: Escrow Assistant 

Location: Dallas, TX – 100% in Office

Job Type: Temporary – full time hours

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prior to Closing:

    • Order payoffs and final utilities for files; ensure payoffs match title commitments.
    • Address all file requirements prior to closing, including liens, judgments, and bankruptcy requirements.
    • Obtain up-to-date tax information and confirm current taxes have not been paid.
    • Order and follow-up on HOA letters, bylaws, financials, and irrigation.
    • Obtain commission information for real estate agents involved in the transaction.
    • Disburse files and confirm the receipt and accuracy of wires.
    • Prepare Power of Attorneys and Quit Claim Deeds as necessary.
    • Maintain open communication with the Escrow Officer regarding the status of the file.
    • Handle walk-ins or phone calls when the Escrow Officer is unavailable.
    • Support other assistants and fill in as receptionist as needed.
  • Closing:

    • Assist with entering figures from the lender.
    • Help with printing and preparing documents for closing.
    • Print checks for closing.
    • Assist with faxing figures to lenders and Realtors.
  • After Closing:

    • Manage file clean-out for shipping of loan package, recordings, follow-up on any escrow funds, etc.
    • Prepare closed-out file for scanning.

Requirements:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in front and back end escrow duties.
  • SoftPro knowledge
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
