Division Assistant Controller – fully in office
Direct Hire; up to 100K + bonus
West Houston


  • Direct and supervise Accounting to include Accounts Payable, Subcontractor Payables, Payroll, Housing Receivables, job cost, and general ledger accounting
  • Ensure adherence with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies and procedures
  • Assist Controller in preparing annual Departmental Operating Budgets, Housing Budget, Capital Asset Budget, Land Development Budget, and Cash Flow Budget
  • Assist Controller in preparing financial forecasts of projected revenue and profit in conjunction with financial analysis of budget vs. actual operating results
  • Assist Controller in meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements of internal and external users
  • Assist Controller in directing and overseeing preparation of Personal Property, Sales and Use, and Real Estate Tax returns
  • Assist Controller in designing, implementing, and supporting procedures ensuring compliance
  • Work with and provide financial information to internal and external auditors; respond to audit reports
  • Approve expenditures and invoices
  • Work with department managers to ensure consistent application of GL accounting/cost coding


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years Strong knowledge of GAAP Strong knowledge of cash flows, financial reports, and annual reports
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to organize and manage long-term projects
  • Team player, positive, collaborative, dedicated, and committed to efficiency and accuracy
