Job Title: Escrow Account Reconciliation Specialist

Location: Remote 

Job Type: contract

The Escrow Trust Account Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for managing agents to ensure their escrow trust accounts are accurately reconciled. This role involves performing reconciliations using industry-related software, providing necessary accounting reports, and analyzing account activity to mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile contracted agents escrow trust accounts.
  • Perform reconciliations using various industry-related software applications via remote access.
  • Prepare invoices and follow up on accounts receivable for reconciliation services.
  • Analyze reconciliations prepared by agents to ensure validity and detect any activity that may pose a risk.
  • Maintain account information and reconciliation data.
  • Provide preventative and corrective measures for exceptions detected in the reconciliations.
  • Strengthen agency relationships through continuous feedback to agent owners and their personnel.

Requirements:

  • Two years of escrow banking or bookkeeping experience.
  • Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer use, data entry, typing, and 10-key skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage high volumes of work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree(s) specializing in business, accounting, or finance preferred.

Experience & Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in a title insurance agency, attorney's office, or law office specializing in real estate settlements.
  • Previous bookkeeping experience with real estate settlement software, Quicken, and QuickBooks.
