Accounting Supervisor
Temp to Hire; up to $60/hr
Downtown Houston; hybrid

Duties:

  • Provide oversight, direction and strategy for the operational accounting practices
  • Coordinate, implement and develop written policies, procedures and internal controls over the accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy
  • Manage monthly closing process, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts
  • Manage the accounting team to shorten the monthly closing process, including adding reconciliations and analysis of related accounts
  • Review journal entries, invoices and other accounting transactions
  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve issues on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate, implement and develop written policies, procedures and internal controls over the accounting processes
  • Provide training to non-financial personnel on internal control compliance and accounting procedures
  • Provide support for the Company’s annual audit with the independent auditors and lead any other operational/tax audits

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of accounting experience, with growing responsibilities; CPA a plus 
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP, accounting, and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet knowledge
  • Knowledge of financial concepts beyond accounting; solid knowledge of US GAAP
  • Detail oriented, strategic thinker, well organized, strong prioritization, analytical, and strong communicator; logical, efficient, attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, and rapidly growing environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability; collaborative; excellent listening; highly motivated
