Senior Accountant
Direct Hire; up to 100K + bonus
Downtown Houston
Duties:
- Input and track financial transactions for various entities and funds
- Maintain GL, cash, AP/AR, and intercompany/affiliate balances
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly close activities
- Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with fund administrator to review activities
- Manage cash flow, including monitoring and reporting cash balances and reconciling cash accounts
- Conduct financial analysis, calculations, and reporting, including NAV, waterfalls, and capital calls
- Analyze expenses and recommend cost control strategies
- Prepare financial statements and reports; assist with budgeting and forecasting procedures
- Assist with tax preparation and compliance and with internal and external audits
- Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting regulations, policies, and internal controls
- Support Finance team; coach, train, and mentor junior staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting required; Master’s and CPA a PLUS
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience; private equity and fund accounting with many entities preferred; ideal candidate will come out of Big 4
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel A MUST
- Experience in coordinating tax planning, compliance, and working with external tax advisors
- Hands on, collaborative, team spirit, and relationship builder with passion; professional and well spoken
- Attention to detail, accurate, and efficient; mindful of deadlines; analytical problem-solver; self-starter
