Supervisor, Mid-Office Risk-Power

Role Accountabilities
- Collaborating with the Front Office to provide accurate information on the risk impact of transactions.
- Developing and leading risk analysis to support informed decision-making and commercial strategies.
- Directly supervising and managing a team of 3-5 risk control analysts, including staffing, coaching, and performance appraisals.
- Ensuring compliance with internal limits and policies and monitoring adherence to these limits.
- Working closely with Back Office, Finance, Credit, Legal, and Internal Control to align risk control practices with compliance requirements.
- Developing and implementing Middle Office risk policies and procedures to manage business growth.
- Overseeing the accuracy and completeness of reports related to regulatory requirements and trading limits.
- Liaising with Trading Systems to ensure that enhancements meet business needs.
- Identifying and implementing new solutions to improve processes and controls, eliminating risks or gaps.
- Reporting operational risk incidents and working with the team to address and prevent future issues.
- Collaborating with Middle Office teams in Geneva and Singapore, supporting global control management and processes.
- Acting as the North American Power subject matter expert while coordinating with teams focused on other commodities like Natural Gas, LNG, and Dry Bulks.
- Managing a team of 3-5 Middle Office Analysts responsible for Position and PnL reporting.
- Overseeing risk assessment, analytics, and controls for the company’s power business, including flexible power generation, trading, market access, and structured deals.
- Operating in a fast-paced, dynamic setting with critical, time-sensitive activities requiring immediate analysis and communication.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field (required).
Master’s and/or certification in a related concentration (preferred).- Prior supervisory or team lead experience (preferred).
- Experience with North American Power Markets, including ISOs/RTOs, power fundamentals, financial and physical power trading, and congestion.
- Minimum of 5 years in a mid-office commodity trading organization or on a commodity trading team.
- Deep understanding of the energy industry, commodity trading, macroeconomics, risk analysis, and modern finance.
- High level of analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, speaking, and communication skills.
