Our Client, a progressive defense litigation firm is looking to add a Sr Associate to the team.

The ideal candidate should have litigation experience in Texas state courts, particularly in defending transportation/trucking cases. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Texas. Experience in litigating medical malpractice, transportation, product liability, construction, premises liability and general liability lawsuits, the primary focus for this position will be trucking and transportation.
 You will be responsible for providing comprehensive defense services to trucking and transportation companies facing litigation, with a focus on personal injury claims, and transportation issues, Department of Transportation record-keeping matters, accident reconstruction, and forensic evidence assembly.
Duties:

  • Represent clients in state court litigation proceedings, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant case law and statutes.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as required.
  • Collaborate with partners on case strategy and client communication.
  • Prepare for and participate in trial proceedings as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.

     Staying abreast of changes in transportation laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in the specified practice areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.
