Health & Safety Analyst
6-month++ temp; flexible hourly
DT Houston; hybrid and 9/80 work schedule

**Responsible for the in-depth analysis, development of analytic tools such as dashboards and visualizations, development of reporting tools, and overall management for health and safety data
**Company will administer an exam to evaluate Python and SQL skills
Duties:
 

  • Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture while ensuring safety for the employee, the public, and the environment at all times
  • Interpret data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
  • Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies optimizing statistical efficiency and quality
  • Secure data from data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Prepare reports and analysis for internal teams, external clients, and/or stakeholders
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data
  • Visualize data with graphs, infographics, and other methods

Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field
  • 5 years proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting finding
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines
  • Preferred – oil and gas experience including safety requirements and practices; 10 years as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst; coding skills and language in Python; knowledge e of Intelex V6, Snowflake, Spotfire, Tableau and/or PowerBI software, MS SharePoint, Forms, and Power Automate, and AI software and data management
