Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst
Direct Hire; up to 113K (based on experience)
Downtown Houston
**IDEAL candidates have Big Four Accounting
**All candidates MUST have SEC reporting experience
Duties:
- Prepare and review financial statements and schedules for monthly financial package; participate in financial review meetings
- Compile and review variance analysis and explain fluctuations in accounts, utilizing input from account owners in Accounting department
- Compile, draft and review 10-K/10-Q drafts; obtain information for disclosures; ensure SEC compliance of 10-Q/K through review of financial statement disclosure checklists, authoritative accounting guidance and other resources
- Tie out SEC filings and maintain organized support for all filings
- Prepare/review required Inline XBRL tagging, including Forms 10-K,10-Q and 8-K
- Record journal entries with preparation of supporting schedules and account reconciliations
- Coordinate with independent auditors to facilitate a successful audit; provide documentation
- Assist in drafting quarterly press releases and review investor presentations, Board presentations and other materials for accuracy
- Assist with preparation and review of registration statements
- Ensure data is accurately maintained, including opening and closing monthly financial periods and chart of accounts maintenance
- Research technical accounting issues, reach conclusions regarding accounting and disclosure, and present findings
- Draft accounting policies and memos
- Maintain SOX controls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s in Accounting and CPA HIGHLY preferred
- Minimum 2 years accounting experience with exposure to financial reporting, SEC filings and external audit process
- Public accounting experience; oil and gas highly preferred
- Maintain current understanding of GAAP and SEC guidelines
- Advanced Excel skills required; Workiva, Planful, and XBRL preferred
- Strong communication skills, team player, proactive, and meets deadlines; fast-paced setting
