Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Specialist

NW Houston

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Apply customer payments by recording checks, ACH, wire and credit card transactions to the appropriate invoices in the applicable accounting system
  • Maintain detailed spreadsheet documentation for deposits and journal entries
  • Prepare deposits and record basic accounting journal entries for payments, refunds, etc
  • Research and resolve unapplied payments timely
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding invoices, payments, W-9 requests
  • Prioritize tasks while dealing with a high volume of payments
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy

 

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Working understanding of the accounts receivable process
  • Ability to multi-task and manage work load while meeting internal/external deadlines
  • A positive team player who communicates with team members effectively
  • Strong computer skills with basic competency in Microsoft Excel, and ability to learn the use of new software with ease
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Specific experience in court reporting and records retrieval services is desirable
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, SalesForce, and/or Quickbooks is desirable

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years of experience with collections, invoicing, and/or accounts receivable
  • Experience working in a multi-function, multi-geographical environment preferred.
