Lead Maintenance Technician

Direct Hire; up to $27 plus bonus/benefits

  • Responsible for completing tasks to ensure community meets all safety standards and site appearance standards
  • Ensure apartments, buildings, equipment, and amenities are maintained in good working order
  • Participate in and supervise process of preparing apartments for new residents
  • Respond to and complete resident requests for maintenance
  • Implement and manage programs that promote a high level of customer service
  • Oversee and ensure quality and efficient work of maintenance staff
  • Perform all duties in compliance with all federal and state laws pertaining to the apartment industry including Fair Housing
  • Supervise and mentor all maintenance employees, groundskeepers, and housekeepers
  • Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment; maintains tools in excellent condition
  • Perform work area clean-up and safety related duties; ensure storage areas remain locked
  • Perform maintenance/repair involving electrical and plumbing, A/C and heating systems, appliances, water irrigation systems, stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, tile, carpet, flooring, roofing, gutters, fasteners, interior/exterior lights, fireplaces, ceiling fans, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, boiler, gas and electric, door locks, security systems, ceiling leaks, walls, general carpentry, pool areas, pool furniture, foundations/sidewalk/concrete, and ice and snow removal
  • Coordinate make-ready repairs and services; assist make-ready staff to meet deadlines
  • Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage area to apartment
  • Be knowledgeable of inventory levels of spare parts and supplies




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred; Trade School preferred
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Read, write and speak English; Spanish helpful
  • 3 to 5+ years general maintenance experience with 2+ years apartment maintenance experience preferred
  • Handle tile work, carpentry repairs, and all facets of apartment make-ready
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electric, and irrigation systems, major appliances and other systems (gates, etc.)
  • Customer service oriented; good written and verbal communication skills
