Tips To Make Your LinkedIn More Attractive

This is for our clients and candidates! Today we will be covering the top ways to enhance your LinkedIn page no matter if its your personal, or business account. There are ways to stand out among the other 575 million users on there and we’re here to provide those tips.

Business Pages:

Customize your URL- By doing this you are differentiating yourself from other accounts and making it easier for your viewers to find your personalized business page on LinkedIn. Below explains how to make this change.

1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
2. Click View Profile.
3. On your profile page, click Edit public profile & URL on the right rail.
4. Under Edit URL in the right rail, click the Edit icon next to your public profile URL.
5. Type the last part of your new custom URL in the text box.
6. Click Save.

Republish your blogs and content from your website- On LinkedIn they really are not a fan of links that are not their own. Go to “write an article on LinkedIn” under your “Start a Post” box on the homepage. Continue to copy and paste your blog from your website on to LinkedIn and at the end state that it was first posted on your website, so that it can redirect your audience there afterwards.

Personal Account:

Ask for recommendations– When searching for another job, recruiters and other employers will be looking at your LinkedIn account immediately. When you edit your profile, a link a show up that you will click that says “Ask for Recommendations”. Follow that and ask past mentors if they could write some positive words about their experience with you professionally. This makes you stand out by having these reviews from others listed on your page.

Have a strong headline- This is the first sentence people see underneath your picture and name when they go to your profile. It can either describe where you are at currently or show that you are actively looking for a career change. People who are not your friends on LinkedIn are allowed to see this. This would be a great area to promote yourself when looking for a new career.
