Rewewables Originator – RNG
Client owns and/or operates a portfolio of RNG facilities and related assets across North America with a growth strategy that will place its RNG production at a significant and relevant level from a competitive standpoint. Seeking an experienced Originator in the RNG voluntary space versed in optimizing a growing portfolio of assets.
Role Description
- Responsible for originating and executing spot and long-term structured transactions in the North American Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) voluntary market.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize the Company’s RNG portfolio and align with compliance market strategies.
- Maintain a deep understanding of RNG pricing, compliance regulations, and legislative impacts on renewable credit markets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry buyers to drive RNG sales and revenue growth.
- Structure innovative deals and identify new business opportunities in an evolving regulatory environment.
- Work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting requiring problem-solving, negotiation, and strategic thinking.
- Ensure proficiency with RNG logistics, environmental attributes (EAs) platforms, and ISCC certification compliance.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in RNG sales, trading, or origination, with a track record of successful transactions.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of North American RNG voluntary and compliance markets.
- Expertise in structured transactions, pricing strategies, and financial risk management.
- Established network of industry buyers and partners within the RNG sector.
- Deep understanding of relevant federal and state legislation impacting compliance markets.
- Ability to analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and pricing impacts.
- Experience with physical natural gas logistics and environmental attribute tracking platforms.
- Self-starter with excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
