Corporate / Trading Accountant /Sr. DOE)

This is an individual contributor role handling operational transactions, trading, to corporate accounting and preparation of the core financial statements for reporting and approval by internal management (CFO and Executive Leadership to Bank). Works closely with and reports to the CFO.
Responsibilities
- Small company Individual contributor (one person accounting department) responsible for performing all accounting activities from transactional and operating accounting, to accounting for commodity (Agricultural) trades, as well as through preparation of the company’s financial statements.
- Versed with mark-to-market / hedge accounting (GAAP, ASC 815)
- Handle day to day full accounting cycle from AP, AR, Payroll, month end close, account reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Experience generating reports initially in AgVance accounting and subsequently from QB Enterprise
- Systems savvy with an ability to migrate from legacy system to set up Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Ability to and responsible for processing payroll and related to include tax (i.e. payroll state/federal monthly, quarterly and annual returns/filings)
Additional duties required from a small company
- ***Manage the reporting / documentary requirements from the financial auditors
- Understanding of GAAP procedures for reporting unrealized gains / losses in the financials
- Commodity trading experience, preferably agricultural, but experience necessary
Requirements
- BS in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred but not required)
- 3+ years in same or similar role or experience
- Software – AgVance but moving to QuickBooks Enterprise
- Extremely proficient in Excel and Word (tested)
