IT Support Specialist (Onsite)

Pay range $25-28 hour depending on experience
Onsite Position: Primary office in zip code 77004 – some local travel to sites in area
$25-28 hourly based on experience and qualifications
The IT Support Specialist provides technical, analytical, and administrative assistance to Wholesale Electric Supply employees as needed. The IT Support Specialist will also work in distributing workstations to new hires and help with hardware and software upgrades to existing employees as needed. The IT Support Specialist will troubleshoot, and problem solve IT related issues to help the company create and maintain an effective working environment.
Essential Functions
- Processes critical EOM functions on multiple servers
- Performs new PC deployments
- Performs server checks and minor administration of ERP applications on company servers
- Performs administration of critical cloud based services: PC backups, security software, etc.
- Installs software and repairs hardware as needed
- Resolves IT helpdesk tickets as needed
- Consults with managers and employees to determine hardware and software needs
- Trains employees on new software as needed
- Maintains system capabilities by testing computer components
- Documents processes
- Performs regular diagnostic tests

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or similar required
- 2-5 years of experience as an IT Support Specialist required
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time contract position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. The employee must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
