Director, Business Development – fully in office
Direct Hire; up to 140K
Houston, TX

**lead growth using 7+ years in federal, state, or local business development or capture
**25% travel
Duties:
- Identify new agencies and opportunities to drive into active capture
- Target Civilian, DoD, and National Security buyers aligned with core capabilities (SAP, UiPath, automation, cyber, and IT services)
- Track pipeline, qualify opportunities, and maintain unwavering momentum
- Lead customer conversations to identify pain points, shape requirements, and guide toward solutions
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across target agencies
- Cultivate partner relationships to expand reach and team on major pursuits
- Run captures end-to-end – solution shaping, win themes, teaming, pricing input, and proposal coordination
- Collaborate with technical, delivery, and proposal teams to ensure offers resonate and win
- Lead RFIs, RFQs, and RFP responses
- Represent BD across internal planning, reviews, and strategy discussions
- Contribute to corporate growth targets for submissions, awards, and qualified pipeline
- Shape market strategy and go-to-market messaging
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree a plus, not required; 7+ years federal, state, or local business development or capture REQUIRED
- Must have demonstrated success closing new work as both prime and sub; hands on and outcome driven
- Familiarity with Civilian, DoD, or IC agency buying patterns, especially small business-friendly vehicles
- Experience with SAP, RPA/automation (e.g., UiPath), IT modernization, or enterprise service contracts preferred
- Past performance with high value captures and/or managing a pipeline valued over $500M preferred
- Active network across DoD/Civilian agencies and GovCon partners preferred
- Familiarity with DoD budget cycles and acquisition planning preferred
- Comfortable leading capture and crafting solutions in fast-moving, lean environments
- Driven by results—able to take ownership and push through obstacles
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
