Staff Accountant – Contract (4–6 Months)
Location: Houston, TX (Local Candidates Only)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (onsite for a month training; hybrid after)
Onboarding: Fully on-site for first month, then hybrid (upon demonstrated independence)
Duration: Contract, with potential to convert to full-time (not guaranteed)
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA designation is a plus but not required.
Top Skills & Experience

3–5 years of general accounting experience.

Hands-on experience with journal entries and intercompany accounting.

Strong ability to follow up on queries and reconcile accounts.

Familiarity with US GAAP and SOX compliance.

Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Reporting

Prepare and process journal entries with proper supporting documentation.

Perform and maintain balance sheet reconciliations; resolve reconciling items promptly.

Validate subledger reports (RNV, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders).

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under tight deadlines.

Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules per corporate close schedule.
Operational & Ad-Hoc Support

Provide financial analysis and insights to Operations to support decision-making.

Assist with statutory and tax audit preparation as required.

Support SOX documentation and internal control monitoring.

Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.
