Paralegal needed for a busy plaintiff trial firm
Ideal candidate will help attorneys manage personal injury cases from start to finish, handling legal research, drafting documents (pleadings, motions, discovery), client communication, evidence organization, and trial prep, focusing heavily on managing medical records, deadlines, and ensuring smooth case flow in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Key duties involve case development, client updates, evidence compilation (including medical records), and supporting litigation activities like depositions, hearings, and trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Assist attorneys with all case stages (inception to resolution/post-trial) for personal injury/medical malpractice.
- Legal Research & Drafting: Conduct legal research and draft documents like pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and jury charges.
- Client & Witness Interaction: Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide updates.
- Discovery & Evidence: Organize, review, and retrieve discovery documents; prepare discovery binders; compile evidence for trial.
- Trial Preparation: Assist in trial prep by organizing files, exhibits, and materials for court appearances.
Essential Skills & Experience
- (5) years experience in personal injury law.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal writing, research, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced litigation setting.
