The Controller is responsible for leading all accounting and financial operations for the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to drive financial strategy, operational efficiency, and business performance within manufacturing and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, job costing, inventory, and revenue recognition
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and financial statement preparation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Partner with operations and project teams to provide financial insight, job cost analysis, and margin optimization
- Oversee audits, tax coordination, and external financial reporting
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and ERP optimization
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering development and accountability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing and construction environments
- CPA designation (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage, or similar)
- Proven leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
