Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to support daily financial operations within a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting who enjoys working with financial data, maintaining accuracy, and supporting both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Property & General Accounting
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness
- Record and track incoming payments, including rent and other receivables
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation
- Assist with property-related accounting activities, including preparation of owner statements
Financial Records & Reconciliation
- Maintain general ledger entries and assist with journal entries
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial data
Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting documentation
- Support budget tracking and financial analysis as needed
- Prepare and maintain records for year-end processes, including 1099 reporting
Communication & Support
- Respond to inquiries from vendors and tenants regarding billing and payments
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and issue resolution
- Support overall accounting operations and assist with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
- Experience with property or real estate accounting
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
