Overview
Seeking an experienced Electrical Manager to lead field operations, drive reliability initiatives, and oversee power distribution and automation systems. This role acts as a key bridge between leadership and field teams, ensuring operational excellence, safety, and alignment on strategic objectives.
Duties
- Serve as the primary liaison between leadership and field operations, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities
- Lead and supervise electricians, instrumentation/automation specialists, and measurement technicians across assigned regions
- Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems (480V–22kV)
- Direct field troubleshooting efforts for electrical, automation, and power distribution issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Partner with Asset Integrity & Reliability teams to maintain measurement accuracy and data quality within Maximo; coordinate technical training across teams
- Strengthen communication with leadership while managing third-party vendors to ensure project alignment on scope, schedule, cost, and deliverables
- Champion a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reinforcing compliance, and escalating concerns as needed
- Lead the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Oversee regional operational performance, including troubleshooting, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage team performance, including time tracking, hiring, coaching, development, and disciplinary actions; optimize staffing and scheduling to maintain productivity
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety programs, including KPA, JSAs, training requirements, incident reporting, and safety observations
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience (including 3+ years in a supervisory role) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required with 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems, instrumentation, and automation
- Hands-on experience with Maximo (or similar CMMS platforms)
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and Profibus
- Proven expertise in medium- and high-voltage power distribution systems (480V–22kV)
- Experience with SCADA platforms such as Ignition, Wonderware, Simatic, iFix, or Intellution
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and UL standards
- Practical experience with VFDs, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and grounding/bonding methods
- Proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP)
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective communicator capable of working across all levels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
