Plaintiff Trial firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our plaintiff personal injury team. This role works closely with Attorneys, a Senior Legal Assistant, and other team members to ensure efficient operations and high-quality client service in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage busy calendars and coordinate meetings, travel, and events
- E-file documents in state and federal courts and maintain accurate docketing of deadlines
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and conference calls
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing hearing notebooks
- Process expense reports and handle administrative tasks as needed
- Screen and manage telephone communications professionally
- Collaborate with other Legal Assistants and team members to meet firm and client needs
- Organize and prioritize workload to support team efficiency and deadlines
- Adhere to firm policies, including confidentiality, attendance, and professional standards
Qualifications:
- Experience in plaintiff personal injury litigation with knowledge of court procedures, deadlines, and requirements in state and federal courts
- Proficiency in e-filing, docketing, and trial preparation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to anticipate needs, make sound decisions, and work independently
- Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
