Position: Legal Examiner/Doc Prep
Location: Dallas, TX – Hybrid (after trained)
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Examiner/Doc Prep to join our client’s legal team in our Dallas office. As a Legal Examiner/Doc Prep, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the preparation and examination of residential mortgage documents, focusing primarily on Texas properties. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in mortgage processing and loan documentation to further develop their career in a dynamic and supportive environment. ?
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, log, and assess requests from mortgage lenders for the preparation and review of loan documents necessary for adequate lien protection ?
- Review title commitments and surveys, identify any issues, and communicate findings with lender closers ?
- Input, draft, and distribute loan documents and additional materials to closing agents or lenders ?
- Identify and document any discrepancies, missing documents, or issues within loan files, escalating complex problems to attorneys for further review ?????
- Provide timely responses to follow-up calls or emails related to loan files ?
- After completing in-office training, transition to a hybrid work schedule ?
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field preferred ?
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mortgage processing, loan documentation, or similar roles required; prior experience in a mortgage documentation role at a real estate law firm preferred ?
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with legal or loan origination software and document preparation systems ?
- Attention to Detail: Possess exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail for identifying errors in complex financial and legal documents ?
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle a high-volume workload and meet strict deadlines ?
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and client-focused demeanor ?
- Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mortgage lending regulations and compliance standards highly preferred ?
