Hybrid Downtown client is adding an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy team of 4–5 attorneys handling general civil and commercial litigation matters. This is a high-volume role that requires exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of Texas state and federal court procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to litigation attorneys.
- Manage court deadlines, docketing, calendaring, and case files.
- Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- File and serve documents electronically in Texas state and federal courts.
- Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial logistics.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, and trial binders.
- Maintain attorney calendars, billing records, and document management systems.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of litigation legal secretary experience in a law firm environment.
- Strong background in general civil and commercial litigation.
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced, deadline-driven practice.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word document formatting.
- Knowledge of Texas and federal e-filing systems, including E-File Texas and PACER.
- Familiarity with document management software such as iManage or NetDocuments preferred.
- Understanding of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and local court rules.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Notary Public commission preferred but not required.
