We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Loan Processor to manage and support a variety of consumer real estate loan products from application through funding. This role is responsible for ensuring loan files meet regulatory, investor, and internal guidelines while delivering excellent member service throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Processing & File Management
- Perform comprehensive review and analysis of loan applications, including:
- First Mortgages
- Home Equity Loans
- Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs)
- Lot Loans
- Construction Loans
- Home Improvement Loans (purchase and refinance)
- Review and clear conditions of loan approval accurately and in a timely manner
- Calculate basic borrower income to support underwriting decisions
- Conduct initial review of appraisal and title documentation
- Maintain a proactive approach to managing and prioritizing loan pipeline
Communication & Coordination
- Establish consistent and proactive communication with members, branch personnel, and internal teams regarding loan status and outstanding conditions
- Serve as a primary point of contact for updates and follow-ups throughout the loan lifecycle
- Coordinate and schedule loan closing appointments with branch personnel
- Provide first-level escalation support for loan-related issues
Vendor & Documentation Management
- Order and follow up on third-party vendor services, including:
- Appraisals
- Title work
- Flood certifications
- Prepare and distribute preliminary and initial disclosures in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Prepare and distribute complete loan closing packages
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation
Closing & Funding
- Coordinate loan closings and ensure all documentation is properly executed
- Complete the loan funding process accurately and efficiently
- Verify all conditions and requirements have been satisfied prior to funding
Additional Support Functions
- Support HELOC conversions and Home Improvement Loan draw conversions
- Monitor HELOC expiration reports and prepare required notification letters (3-month and 9-month intervals)
- Assist with reporting and tracking using internal systems
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage and/or home equity loan processing
