Our client is adding a legal assistant to support the Bankruptcy Practice Group Leader in a fast-paced and highly confidential environment. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client matters, financial information, restructuring strategies, court proceedings, and privileged communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, travel arrangements, and client meetings while ensuring discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Prepare, format, proofread, and distribute legal documents, correspondence, court filings, engagement materials, and client communications related to bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and distressed asset matters.
- Maintain and organize confidential case files, electronic records, and document management systems in compliance with firm policies and legal requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, creditors, trustees, lenders, committees, financial advisors, and other parties involved in bankruptcy and restructuring matters while safeguarding sensitive information.
- Assist with court filing procedures, deadlines, docket management, and case administration for complex bankruptcy proceedings.
- Handle confidential financial reports, restructuring plans, due diligence materials, and privileged attorney-client communications with the highest level of professionalism.
- Monitor and track critical filing dates, hearings, meetings, and transaction deadlines to ensure timely completion of all assignments.
- Support preparation for client meetings, court appearances, negotiations, and restructuring transactions by organizing materials and maintaining confidentiality of strategic information.
- Process expense reports, billing information, and time-entry records in accordance with firm procedures.
- Serve as a trusted administrative resource, exercising sound judgment when handling sensitive information and interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Prior legal secretary experience, preferably supporting bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, finance, or litigation practices.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document management practices.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
