Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

As we continue to expand organically and through strategic acquisitions, we are seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and help shape the next phase of growth.
Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic financial leadership while maintaining a hands-on approach to managing the accounting and finance function. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership to drive operational excellence, improve financial processes, support growth initiatives, and evaluate merger and acquisition opportunities.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic finance expertise, strong accounting fundamentals, operational leadership, and experience within manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on financial strategy and business planning.

Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.

Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support growth initiatives and strategic decision-making.

Evaluate potential acquisitions and assist with integration planning and execution.

Develop financial models and KPIs to support business performance and profitability.
Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management.

Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls.

Manage banking relationships, financing activities, and working capital optimization.

Oversee annual audits and coordinate with external advisors.
Operational & Process Improvement

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and accounting functions.

Optimize ERP utilization and reporting capabilities.

Improve visibility into cost of goods sold, margins, inventory, and operational performance.

Develop reporting tools and dashboards that support executive decision-making.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and financial controls.
Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor a finance team of approximately nine employees.

Develop and strengthen accounting leadership capabilities within the department.

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture.

Build succession plans and support professional growth across the finance organization.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
-
15+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.

Significant experience within manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments.

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cash flow management.

Experience leading accounting and finance teams.

Proven track record of process improvement and operational finance leadership.

Experience partnering directly with executive leadership teams.

Advanced ERP and financial systems experience.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred

CPA and/or MBA.

Experience with mergers and acquisitions.

Experience in privately held or family-owned businesses.

Background leading finance organizations through periods of growth and transformation.
