Associate Attorney – Construction Defect Litigation

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2–4 years of litigation experience to join our growing Construction Defect Litigation team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and hands-on experience handling complex, high-exposure construction disputes.
The ideal candidate will work closely with experienced litigators representing developers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and insurance carriers in construction defect and related commercial litigation matters. From day one, you will have the opportunity to participate in all phases of litigation and develop the skills necessary to become a trusted advisor and trial attorney.
Practice Focus
Our construction defect practice involves the defense of claims arising from:
- Residential and commercial construction projects
- Alleged design and construction deficiencies
- Water intrusion and moisture-related damage
- Structural and foundation issues
- Building envelope claims
- Roofing and exterior system defects
- Construction delays and project disputes
- Property damage and warranty claims
- Multi-party construction litigation
- Insurance-related construction defect claims
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction defect and related litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Analyze project documents, contracts, plans, specifications, and expert reports.
- Investigate claims and evaluate liability, causation, and damages issues.
- Develop strategic defense plans tailored to each matter.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal analysis.
- Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, inspections, and court appearances.
- Coordinate with experts, consultants, clients, and insurance representatives.
- Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
- Assist with trial preparation and trial proceedings.
- Maintain organized case files and effectively manage deadlines and litigation calendars.
Qualifications
Required
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- 2–4 years of litigation experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and advocacy abilities.
- Ability to independently manage assignments and competing deadlines.
Preferred
- Experience in construction defect, insurance defense, commercial litigation, or general civil litigation.
- Experience taking and defending depositions.
- Mediation and courtroom experience.
- Familiarity with construction industry practices, contracts, and project documentation.
- Experience working with experts and technical consultants.
