Job Title: Document Preparation Specialist (Hybrid – Texas)
Location: Texas (Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio) — Hybrid Schedule (10:00 am – 7:00 pm CST shift – non-negotiable)
About the Role:
Are you a detail-oriented professional with expertise in mortgage documentation and a strong understanding of Texas property laws? We are seeking a dedicated Document Preparation Specialist to join our client’s team. Key Responsibilities:
- Document Drafting & Review: Prepare essential closing documents such as deeds, releases, MUD notices, powers of attorney, and other vital instruments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Carefully review title commitments, surveys, loan estimates, and closing disclosures to ensure compliance with TRID regulations and accuracy across all documents.
- System Navigation & Data Management: Utilize Loan Origination Systems (such as Encompass) and document generation software to accurately map data and produce compliant document sets, translating regulatory requirements into precise outputs.
- Coordination & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between lenders, escrow officers, legal teams, and other stakeholders. Ensure files are meticulously prepared, error-free, and meet all service level expectations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, legal studies, or related fields preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years in mortgage closing, document preparation, or legal support within real estate or mortgage environments. Experience with reviewing title commitments (A, B, C), surveys, encroachments, easements, trust documents, LLC agreements, POAs, and secondary lien preparations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, typing speed of 50+ WPM, and familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (e.g., Encompass).
- Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Texas-specific property laws, title, notary requirements, and mortgage regulations (including 50a6 and 50f2 home equity rules).
