Accounting Manager
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid or Remote for Exceptional Candidates)
About the Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly growing, multi-location organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA with strong technical accounting expertise who enjoys building processes, strengthening internal controls, and leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
This role will partner closely with finance leadership and play a key role in supporting financial reporting, operational accounting, treasury, and strategic growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including cash management, bank reconciliations, billing processes, and trust accounting.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors to support audits and compliance requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and financial planning initiatives.
- Support acquisition-related accounting and integration projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
- Utilize ERP and accounting systems, including NetSuite, QuickBooks, and industry-specific software, to support reporting and operational excellence.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external business partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
- Active CPA license required.
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 3–5 years of accounting leadership or management experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit processes.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment.
