Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering organization and support the design and application of industrial valve and steam-system solutions. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant experience, particularly with safety relief valves, pressure protection equipment, or steam systems
The Opportunity
This position combines engineering design, technical problem-solving, product application, and customer support. The engineer will work closely with internal teams and customers to develop solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and support ongoing product and process improvements
Key Responsibilities
- Support the selection, sizing, application, and troubleshooting of pressure relief and valve systems
- Provide technical guidance to customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
- Develop and support steam, thermal fluid, and pressure-reduction system packages
- Perform engineering calculations related to flow, heat transfer, pressure drop, mass balance, and mechanical design
- Create and maintain CAD drawings, BOMs, calculations, and technical documentation
- Evaluate applications and specifications for compliance with applicable ASME, API, and industry standards
- Investigate equipment and field issues and develop practical engineering solutions
- Participate in product development, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of professional engineering experience
- Experience with safety relief valves, steam systems, pressure vessels, or related industrial equipment
- Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 520/521, and National Board requirements
- Knowledge of steam generation, distribution, condensate recovery, and thermal systems
- Experience with CAD and engineering calculations
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
