Legal Assistant for regional office in the Woodlands
This position is supporting a Managing Partner for a growing office in the woodlands .
Key Responsibilities:

Case Management Support:
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including initial filings, discovery, pre-trial motions, depositions, trial preparation, and post-trial procedures.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly indexed and accessible.
- Coordinate the scheduling of depositions, hearings, meetings, and trials.
- Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with court procedures, filing deadlines, and discovery timelines.

Document Preparation and Review:
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, and settlement agreements.
- Organize and manage exhibits and evidence for trial preparation.
- Review incoming correspondence and documents for relevant legal issues and deadlines.

Client and Court Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of case developments and requesting information as needed.
- Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, and witnesses to schedule hearings, depositions, and other events.
- File legal documents with courts and ensure timely responses to filings.

Research and Legal Support:
- Conduct basic legal research as required for case preparation.
- Help attorneys in reviewing statutes, regulations, and case law pertinent to assigned cases.

Administrative Support:
- Manage attorneys’ calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
- Perform general administrative duties, including answering phone calls, handling mail, and managing office supplies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of legal assistant experience, preferably within insurance defense or litigation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal case management software (Clio, Relativity, etc.).
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and insurance defense practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
