Bankruptcy Attorney
Houston, TX | Full-Time or Reduced-Hour Schedule Available
Our downtown Houston office is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney with at least 5 years of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy experience. We welcome both partnership-track and off-track candidates, including attorneys seeking a reduced-hour schedule.
Responsibilities
- Represent secured creditors, unsecured creditors, official committees, trustees, and debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 matters
- Handle complex bankruptcies, workouts, restructurings, and distressed financial situations
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, proofs of claim, and other bankruptcy-related filings
- Conduct legal research, prepare case strategy, and provide courtroom support
- Advise clients on asset protection and bankruptcy-related issues
- Attend creditor meetings, hearings, and court proceedings
- Communicate effectively with trustees, courts, local counsel, and opposing counsel
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Texas
- Minimum 5 years of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Excellent business judgment and professionalism
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Strong academic credentials and client-service orientation
