Field Service Specialist

Direct Hire | Houston, TX

Our client is seeking a Field Service Specialist to support the Field Service Manager and Regional Sales Managers by providing technical expertise, field support, and customer service throughout the equipment lifecycle. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, sales, manufacturing, and customers, providing onsite and remote support for industrial filtration systems. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting mechanical equipment, working directly with customers, and traveling to industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the sales team by performing field inspections on new and existing equipment
• Collect field measurements, document process conditions, and prepare sketches or drawings of filtration systems
• Read tape measures and utilize precision measuring tools to ensure accurate field measurements
• Collaborate with Engineering to develop technical solutions for customer applications
• Assist with commissioning new equipment and verify systems are operating according to project specifications
• Provide technical support during equipment installations and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and project requirements
• Maintain accurate service reports and documentation following customer site visits
• Perform vessel inspections, quality control activities, and hardware installations at fabrication facilities
• Communicate field observations and recommendations to Engineering and Sales teams to support continuous product improvement
• Follow all company, customer, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
• Package equipment and hardware for shipment as needed
• Operate forklifts to load and unload equipment
• Maintain field service tools, testing equipment, and related inventory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred
• Minimum two years of Field Service Technician experience preferred
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with industrial process systems preferred
• Ability to understand operating conditions within chemical, hydrocarbon, gas processing, or similar industrial facilities
• Proficient using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to obtain a passport
• Ability to successfully pass a government background check
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
