Job Cost Manager

Location: Houston, TX (The Heights) / Hybrid
Compensation: Up to $120,000 base
Type: Direct Hire
 

A well-established Houston-based construction company is seeking a Job Cost Manager to join its Finance & Accounting team. This role will support the financial performance of construction projects and work closely with project managers, operations, and finance leadership.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction accounting, project accounting, or job costing and be comfortable working in a hands-on, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
• Support project setup, billing, change orders, and job-cost reporting
• Review revenue, costs, margins, and project variances
• Assist with percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP reporting, and month-end close
• Partner with project managers and operations to ensure accurate project financials
• Help improve job-cost processes and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong construction, project accounting, or job-cost experience
• Knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting
• Experience with T&M, lump-sum, unit-price, or similar contract structures
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• ERP experience required; construction-focused systems experience is a plus

Preferred Background
Experience within construction, infrastructure, industrial services, EPC, or another project-based environment is highly preferred.
