A fast-growing Texas commercial property tax litigation practice is adding a third attorney due to increased caseload. This is a high-impact litigation role with immediate responsibility, frequent court appearances, and the opportunity to work closely with seasoned trial lawyers in a specialized, analytically rigorous practice.

You’ll represent commercial property owners in valuation and appraisal disputes across Texas—handling matters from early case strategy through settlement, hearings, and trial preparation.

• Lifestyle-minded culture: Flexible day-to-day schedule (not a strict 8–5), with the expectation that you’ll ramp up when trial demands it (including occasional Saturdays).

What you’ll do

• Manage a substantial docket of commercial property tax litigation matters.
• Draft, file, and argue substantive and procedural motions (including discovery and evidentiary issues).
• Prepare for and handle contested hearings and mediations.
• Take and defend fact and expert depositions (including corporate representative depositions).
• Work closely with appraisal/valuation professionals and tax consultants on case development.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel and appraisal districts; drive matters toward efficient resolution.
• Assist with trial prep and serve as first- or second-chair depending on experience.

Required

• Active Texas law license (good standing).
• Heavy litigation experience (courtroom presence, motion writing, and meaningful case responsibility).
• Comfort handling expert-related litigation tasks (including expert depositions)—this is not an entry-level training role.

Ideal background

• Commercial real estate litigation, business/commercial litigation, construction litigation, eminent domain/condemnation, or other expert-intensive civil litigation.
• Property tax litigation experience is helpful, but not required.
