Cash Accounting Specialist

Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours
Work Arrangement: Fully onsite with 1 work-from-home day per week
Target Start: Within 1–2 weeks

We are seeking a Cash Accounting Specialist to support daily cash accounting activities, historical transaction cleanup, and month-end bank reconciliations. This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of transactional accounting experience who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working with high-volume cash transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and reconcile historical and backdated cash transactions in Workday to bring accounts current and support the system’s automated reconciliation process.

  • Process monthly cash transactions and bank reconciliations to ensure cash accounts are fully reconciled and closed by Day 1 of the month-end close cycle.

  • Manage cash activity across approximately 15–18 bank accounts.

  • Process approximately 100 manual crossover entries per month during peak periods.

  • Research and resolve cash and reconciliation discrepancies, partnering with internal team members when additional information or assistance is needed.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.

  • Support the accounting team with additional cash-related and transactional accounting activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of transactional accounting experience, preferably with exposure to cash transactions and bank reconciliations.

  • Previous Workday experience strongly preferred, although training can be provided for candidates with strong accounting systems experience.

  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial transactions.

  • Ability to research discrepancies, identify issues, and follow through to resolution.

  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing repetitive, high-volume transactional work.

  • Industry experience is not required.

Work Environment

  • Collaborative and team-oriented accounting environment.

  • Looking for a self-starter who is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working independently.

  • Standard business hours with no significant overtime expected outside of normal month-end close activities.

  • Fully onsite with 1 work-from-home day per week.
