Hybrid Downtown client is adding an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy team of 4–5 attorneys handling general civil and commercial litigation matters. This is a high-volume role that requires exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong understanding of Texas state and federal court procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to litigation attorneys.
  • Manage court deadlines, docketing, calendaring, and case files.
  • Draft, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • File and serve documents electronically in Texas state and federal courts.
  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial logistics.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, and trial binders.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, billing records, and document management systems.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal team members.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of litigation legal secretary experience in a law firm environment.
  • Strong background in general civil and commercial litigation.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced, deadline-driven practice.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word document formatting.
  • Knowledge of Texas and federal e-filing systems, including E-File Texas and PACER.
  • Familiarity with document management software such as iManage or NetDocuments preferred.
  • Understanding of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and local court rules.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Notary Public commission preferred but not required.
