Reading Manager — Bayside, NY | $90,000 – $120,000 | Direct Hire | In-Office

A leading company in the legal and real estate services industry is seeking a dedicated and experienced Reading Manager to join their team in Bayside, NY. This organization is committed to operational excellence and client satisfaction, and they are looking for a qualified professional to lead their reading department with expertise and vision.

Overview:
The Reading Manager will play a vital role in overseeing the reading team, working closely with Legal, Production, and Title Officers to ensure workflows are efficient, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive leader to foster team development and optimize departmental performance in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and implement updates from Teams, email, and meetings to ensure operational alignment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, vendors, and abstractors to ensure professional responsiveness.
  • Lead, support, and develop the reading team, including conducting regular check-ins and performance assessments.
  • Oversee timesheet approvals, overtime, and PTO requests in accordance with company policies.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture emphasizing accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Keep senior leadership informed of team progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies or staffing gaps and develop innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce errors.
  • Delegate and reassign tasks based on workload, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
  • Partner with Legal to implement best practices and facilitate process standardization across departments.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Production, and Title Officers to refine workflows, improve title product consistency, and enhance the client experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in reading, legal, or operations roles.
  • Proven success in staff development, training, and performance management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with HR platforms such as 15Five and vendor or abstractor management is a plus.
