Controller
Direct Hire; up to 130K (flexible based on experience)
Southeast Houston

Duties:
 

  • Plan, direct, and oversee accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and internal controls
  • Oversee team including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountant
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and performance management to accounting personnel.
  • Maintain and continuously improve a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Implement and monitor internal controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk and ensure accuracy
  • Oversee preparation and distribution of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Recommend financial benchmarks and key performance indicators to measure organizational performance
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts; analyze and report significant variances to management
  • Develop and maintain a reliable cash flow projection process, including minimum cash thresholds to support operating needs
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation for annual audits; manage and complete audits efficiently and effectively
  • Represent the organization in a professional and proud manner to employees, customers, industry partners, and the community

Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA a plus
  • 8+ years of related accounting or financial management experience; comprehensive understanding of financial and operational business practices.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities; strong accounting and financial management expertise
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence others
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; AS400 or Navision
  • Oil field equipment and/or distribution or manufacturing experience
