Junior Applications Engineer

Excellent opportunity for an early-career Chemical Engineer

We are seeking a Junior Applications Engineer to support the evaluation, selection and sizing of filtration and separation equipment used within oil & gas, refining, petrochemical and related process industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to build hands-on applications engineering experience while working alongside experienced engineering, sales and operations professionals

Responsibilities

• Review process data, specifications, datasheets, drawings and P&IDs to determine application requirements
• Perform equipment selection and sizing calculations for filtration, separation and coalescence applications
• Evaluate process conditions including flow rate, pressure, temperature, fluid properties, pressure drop and material compatibility
• Assist with selection of process equipment, vessel configurations, materials, seals, connections and related components
• Prepare technical reports, equipment datasheets, calculation summaries and supporting engineering documentation
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales and Operations to define technical scope and support project execution
• Assist with technical questions, design changes, troubleshooting and post-sale support
• Maintain accurate engineering calculations, documentation and project records

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 1–3 years of engineering experience preferred; relevant internship or co-op experience will be considered
• Working knowledge of fluid mechanics, mass transfer and process equipment
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, process datasheets and equipment specifications
• Experience or exposure to filtration, separation, process equipment, oil & gas, refining, petrochemical or related industrial environments preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments

Ideal backgrounds may include: Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Applications Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, P&IDs, Process Equipment, Equipment Sizing, Hydraulic Calculations, Filtration, Separation, Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, Aspen HYSYS or related process simulation experience
