Controller – Dallas/Hybrid

Our client is a $1.2 billion international environmental services company headquartered in Dallas that is seeking a Controller to lead its Operational Accounting function. The accounting organization is structured into four distinct groups, and this role will serve as the accounting leader supporting operations and field management. This is a highly visible position with significant interaction across the organization and is just one level below the CFO.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee standard cost setup, maintenance, and updates
  • Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, cost rollups, and cost allocations
  • Ensure accurate inventory accounting and reporting
  • Design, implement, and strengthen internal controls
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve processes and drive efficiencies
  • Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and field management teams
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prefer Big 4 or other public accounting experience combined with industry
  • Will consider a strong background with all industry experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
  • Experience with inventory and cost accounting required
  • Knowledge of FIFO inventory methodology preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational leadership
