Job Function

Purpose of the Role Versatile and technically strong Data Analyst embedded directly with the Houston trading desk, serving traders and analysts as their dedicated delivery partner.

Works closely with the desk to understand their needs, build and maintain the underlying data infrastructure, and productionize their models and strategies within the central analytics platform, Microsoft Fabric.

Acts as the key liaison between the Houston trading desk and the Athens-based Data Science team, ensuring alignment on priorities, methodology, and platform standards. There is also scope for the right candidate to contribute directly to model development over time.

Accountabilities / Key Result Areas Desk Partnership & Requirements

  • Serve as the primary analytics delivery partner for desk traders and analysts
  • Gather, understand, and translate desk requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Act as the liaison between the Houston trading desk and the Athens-based Data Science team, coordinating on priorities, model deployment, and platform standards
  • Maintain close collaboration with the desk to ensure delivered solutions remain fit for purpose
  • Bridge the gap between trading insight and technical execution

Microsoft Fabric Implementation

  • Design, build, and maintain data solutions within Microsoft Fabric — lakehouses, warehouses, OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, and notebooks
  • Productionize models and analytical workflows developed by traders and analysts within the Fabric environment
  • Develop and manage data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver reliable data to the desk
  • Build semantic models and reports that give the desk self-serve access to data
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of all deployed solutions at scale

Real-Time Analytics

  • Integrate real-time data feeds into the Fabric environment in a governed, consistent manner

Governance & Knowledge Management

  • Ensure full documentation, transparency, and auditability of all deployed solutions
  • Contribute to a centralized Knowledge Hub of reusable models, pipelines, and strategies
  • Drive consistency in tools and methodologies across desks

Profile
Skills and experience necessary for success in the role.

Required

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a data analyst, data engineer, or similar technical role
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (lakehouses, pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, semantic models, notebooks)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Experience with KQL and Azure Data Explorer
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from traders or analysts and deliver production-grade solutions
  • Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
  • Background in financial services, trading, or commodities

Preferred

  • Experience in energy analytics or commodity markets
  • Familiarity with quantitative model development (signals, forecasts)
  • Experience building shared analytics libraries or knowledge management systems
  • Exposure to CI/CD and Git for managing analytical assets
  • Microsoft Fabric or Azure certifications
