A well-established and respected plaintiff personal injury law firm in Houston is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and career-minded Personal Injury Litigation Legal Assistant with 2–3+ years of Texas personal injury litigation experience to join its growing team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing cases from the filing of a lawsuit through trial and resolution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage plaintiff personal injury litigation files from lawsuit filing through case resolution while maintaining organized electronic files.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness subpoenas, and other trial materials.
  • Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses under attorney supervision.
  • Electronically file documents in Texas state and federal courts while tracking litigation deadlines, court settings, and discovery schedules.
  • Serve as a professional and compassionate point of contact for clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.
  • Order, track, and organize medical, billing, and insurance records, including managing Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code §18.001 affidavits.
  • Support attorneys in maintaining an organized, trial-ready caseload while ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the litigation process.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2–3+ years of experience handling plaintiff personal injury litigation in Texas.
  • Experience assisting attorneys with active litigation and trial preparation.
  • Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas court filing procedures.
  • Experience using Texas state and federal e-filing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven history of professionalism, dependability, and long-term employment commitment.
